LANETT - Mr. Joe E. Bell, 80, of Lanett died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Revs. Stanley Dukes and Tim Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery.
Mr. Bell is survived by his children, Michal Bell of Valley, Randall Bell of West Point, Chris Bell of Lanett, Gail Edwards of Notasulga, Ala., Mike Bledsoe of Auburn and Rita Bledsoe and Dennis Bledsoe, both of Lanett; five brothers, Byron Bell, Charles Bell and Ray Bell, all of Valley, Billy Bell of Lanett and Allen Bell of LaFayette; one sister, Lucy Henderson of Lanett; his grandchildren, Laura Reese, Mark Bell, Joe Bell, Kevin Bell, Amy Bell, Heather Bell, Christen Bell, Conner Bell, Nikki Bell, Kenna Reynolds, Wesley Reynolds, Kim Vessenmeyer, Amanda McGinty, Jessie Edwards, Keith Bledsoe, Julie Bledsoe and Meghan Bledsoe; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bell was born Feb. 17, 1927 in LaFayette. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. Mr. Bell was in the construction business, and later he became a selfemployed business owner in Lanett until he retired. Mr. Bell was a member of the Nazarene Church of Opelika. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
