Robert Colburn St John was born on June 23, 1880 in Ionia, Orange Co, Michigan. His father George St John was 29 and his mother Amaris was 23. By the year 1900 the family was living on a ranch in Summerville NE of La Grande, 0regon. He arrived in Spokane, Wa by 1902 where He married Rosa Alma Graves on February 17, 1907, in Spokane, Washington. (Their wedding photo is posted on this memorial) They had three children during their marriage. The majority of the City Directories for the years they were married says he worked as a Carpenter. On 1910 the census record it states he 0wned a grocery store. He passed away suddenly on December 20, 1912 in Spokane, Washington at the age of 32. According to a St John 'cousin' he is buried in Greenwood Cemetery along with his parents and his young son Albert that died as infant in 1908. Interestingly he was living on Stevens St in Spokane in 1912. His grandfather Sylvester St John is buried in the Tuttle Cemetery in Orange Co, Michigan where the families settled after they immigrated from Canada in the late 1860's.
