Rosa Alma Graves was born on April 15, 1887 in Anselmo, Custer Co, Nebraska. Her father Cincinnatus Graves b1832 was 54 and her mother Rachel Evaline St Clair was 39. She was married to three different individuals thru the years and had two sons and two daughters between 1908 and 1915. Her 1st husband was Robert C. St John, they were married on Feb 17 1907 and had 3 children together by 1911. Robert passed away in Dec 1912 leaving behind 3 small children. He was operating a Grocery Store in Spokane, Wash at the time on Stevens St. Rosa remarried in Sep 1914 to a Willard Bowen. They had 1 son together but the marriage did not last as Rose is found living in Berkeley, Calif in 1920 with her 3 young children. Robert & Rosa lost a young son William in 1909, the year this writers mother was born. Robert & William are buried together in Spokane, Wash. Life must have been a real trial for Rosa. She passed away on November 28, 1960 in Vallejo, Calif, USA at the age of 73. I distinctly remember the date as I was only 10 years old at the time & my mother went to Calif for the funeral.
