Mrs. Ellen Paul Mason age 81, of Earleton passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Shands UF in Gainesville. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee December 8, 1932 to the late Burnett and Lillie (Koger) Paul, and had moved to Earleton from Chicago, Illinois in 1987. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Mason had done administrative and secretarial work. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was the Church Organist and a member of the choir for 25 years. Mrs. Mason also assisted in the designing of and making of the church banners. Her hobbies were sewing and quilting which had led to her building a website called "joydesigns.com". On her website she would design a pattern, digitalize it, and then post them on her website for anyone interested to print off at no charge. She was always a caring, loving, and giving Christian. Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Mason and their three children; Robert Steven "Steve" Mason (Kathy) of Bradenton, Deanna Louise Mason-Dee (Ernie) of Orland Park, Illinois, and Paula Mason Schubert of Jacksonville. Also left behind is her brother, George R. Paul (Peggy) of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for Mrs. Mason at Trinity Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 between the hours of 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor James Peoples and Pastor Scott Stanland officiating.
