In researching Ancestry.com Family Trees, a few have Farnum dying on Oct. 25, 1862, variously in Pennsylvania or New York. I couldn't find any concrete evidence of any of that. I think that he may have died on a hospital ship, which could have been in port at Philadelphia or New York. ​ He may have died in Oct. and been buried in Maine in Nov.

Corporal Farnum Haskell was mentioned in the Ken Burns Civil War documentary. He died in Louisiana.
