Gladys Goppert

Services are planned Saturday for Mrs. Gladys Pearl Goppert, 78, of East Liverpool Convalescent Center No. 1, formerly of Chester, who died Thursday, April 28, 1988, at 8 p.m. at City Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born Dec. 18, 1909, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lee Louk and Mary Ash Louk. Mrs. Goppert had been employed at the former Taylor, Smith and Taylor China Co., and was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Goppert. Survivors include four brothers, William Louk and Roy Louk of Medina, Ohio, Bob Louk of Newell and Elzie Louk of Calcutta, two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Baker of East Liverpool and Mrs. Lucille Herron of Ellwood City, Pa., and several grandchildren. Evangelist Frank Higginbotham of the church is to conduct the services at 1 p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial is to be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel this afternoon and evening.
