"Elmer Hoffman, 86, retired assistant superintendent of maintenance for the Diamond Crystal Salt Co., died Monday in his home, 2244 Ninth st. SW. A native of Dalton, he had lived in Akron 50 years and was a member of Goss Memorial Church, Victory Masonic Lodge 649, E{a}gles Lodge 555, Yusef Khan Grotto and Junior Order United American Mechanics. He retired in 1948 after 47 years service with Diamond Crystal.
He leaves his wife, Mavious; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Herbert, Dayton, and Mrs. Leona Kyler, Akron; two sons, Elmer Jr., Akron, and Gerald, Camp Hill, Pa.; a brother, Clarence, Norton; two sisters, Mrs. Della Amstutz, Kidron, and Mrs. Zulla Beck, Orrville; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
