AIKEN, S.C. — Irby A. Meriwether, 85, died Wednesday at the Aiken Community Hospital.
A graveside military service will be held Monday, June 11 at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
A native of Eatonton, Ga., he was the son of the late Thomas and Sara J. Bonner Meriwether.
He was a veteran of World War I and a retired radio engineer at the General Electric Co., of Syracuse, N.Y.
He leaves his wife, Mary Elizabeth Furey Meriwether of Aiken; one daughter, Mrs. Paul E. Kinsella of Aiken; one sister, Mrs. John Turner of East Point, Ga., and four grand children, David, Douglas, Steven and Barbara Hawes.
