Roy D. Seopa, 88, Minneapolis, formerly of Togo, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Augustana Health Care Center in Minneapolis.

Roy was born on April 6, 1925 in Chisholm, the son of Mike and Edna (Jacobson) Seopa. Roy grew up in Togo and graduated from Grand Rapids High School. He served his country in the Navy during World War 11 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for Reserve Mining Co for several years. Roy learned machinist skills while in the service and worked for different companies in several states. His job as a machinist also took him to Greenland and the Marshall Islands. He lived in Minneapolis for over 40 years, retiring as a machinist for the Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, long walks and long drives in his car.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings: Gordon Seopa, Richard Seopa, Irene Seopa; a sister in infancy; brothers-in-law, Bill Tammi (2014), Leon Sandberg (2011), Bob Percy (1990); and sister-in-law Meg Fox (2007).

Roy is survived by brother Glen (Rita Brabec) Seopa; four sisters: Evelyn Sandberg, Elaine (Jim) Hendy, Carolyn (Wally) Fendt and Gloria Percy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment in the Chisholm Cemetery.
