Parents: William Rowlett and Jemima Owens. Ann Rowlett grew up on a large tobacco plantation in Kentucky. She married George Washington Smoot April 27, 1805 in Owen County, Kentucky to which 7 children were born. George died in 1824 and Ann remarried soon after to Levi Taylor (15 years her junior) on March 10, 1825. Ann and Levi had one daughter.

The new Taylor family moved to Henry County, Tennessee in 1930 near the Blood River and then soon after migrated to Missouri and settling in Marion, Illinois. Per Ann's request she was buried on the Taylor Farm. I have found no information on their return to Tennessee where she is reported to have died.
