MILLINOCKET – Raymond George McEwen Sr. passed away peacefully Jan. 14, 2014 at his home. He was born Feb. 3rd, 1922 in Millinocket the son of Robert Brenton and Hazel (Lank) McEwen.
Raymond held various jobs in his life time, retiring from Great Northern Paper Co. Raymond was an avid fly fisherman who loved fly fishing at Slaughter Pond. He also had many hobbies that included gardening, woodworking, berry picking and going fiddleheading. His greatest joy was giving his vegetables from his garden away.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Armstrong) McEwen and their children, Lorrie Harrison Bonnie Veinote and husband Gene Raymond McEwen Jr., Brenda Cesare and husband Peter, Vicki Dubois and husband Dana, Donna Seamans and husband Roger, Carol Bracy and husband Robert, Brenton McEwen and Julie Douglass, Jesse McEwen; daughter-in- law Linda (Bouchard) McEwen; sister-in-law Nancy Sanderson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons James McEwen and Robert McEwen; two brothers John (Jack) Sanderson and James McEwen.
