ROANOKE, VA. June 22. Samuel Griggs, one of the oldest and most worthy citizens of Roanoke, died yesterday afternoon, aged seventy-six years. He was for many years a merchant of Big Lick and served as mayor several terms. He was a native of Floyd, but moved to Big Lick when he was a boy. He is survived by eleven children, eight sons and three daughters; all grown.
