PONTOTOC – Sarah "Aunt Sa" Dillard, 74, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. She was born Jan. 20, 1939, to John "Dick" Thomas Dillard and Winnie Dale Carwyle Dillard in Union County. She was a member of Lee Memorial Baptist Church in Pontotoc. She moved to Aurora, Ill., in 1956. She worked at R&M Kaufmann Dress Factory before moving back to Pontotoc in 1973, where she worked at Smith, Nephew & Richards until becoming disabled in 1991. She loved cooking, canning, sewing and spending time with her family and loved ones. She had no children of her own but helped raise some of her nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc. Bro. Ed Vitagliano will be officiating. Burial will be in the Thaxton Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two very special nieces and caregivers, Alice Scruggs (Jason) of Saltillo and Wannie Graft (Brendon) of Dallas, Texas; four nieces; two nephews; sister, Omenda Ann Smith (Jim) of Tupelo; brother, Bobby Joe Dillard (Donna) of Pontotoc; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Pervis Dillard and Windham "Slim" Dillard; two sisters, Virginia "Sis" Edwards and Martha Joyner; two nephews; and two nieces.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Dillard, Bubba Bartlett, Brandon Bartlett, Ben Matthews, Tony Vitagliano and Dan Durham.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
