Eugene Tiger Conrad was born on February 2nd, 1921 in Braggs, OK, the son of Medley Jefferson and Emma (Rider) Conrad. He was enlisted in the US Army Aircorp in January of 1946 and served until he transferred to the US Air Force, serving faithfully as a Mess Sergeant, feeding the troops until his honorable discharge twelve years later. He met and married the love of his life, Naydeen Ragan, on September 2nd, 1951, in Claremore, OK. This union was blessed with six children and years of happy memories. Upon completing his military career, he began his career with the BIA as a cook at Jones Academy in Hartshorne, OK. When there was free time available, Jiggs could be found doing a little fishing and hunting. There was always time for gardening, and it didn't matter if it was fruit, vegetable, or flower, Jiggs could make it grow. He was always ready to travel to watch his grandkids play sports, be it football, baseball, basketball, or soccer. At home he enjoyed watching baseball games on television every chance he got. His yard was meticulous, and he worked hard to make the yard a haven of peace and rest. Jiggs was quiet, but beneath that quiet exterior there was a character lurking! He had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to tease and pull pranks. You could bet that if he spent enough time around you, there was going to be a nickname, he had a name for everyone! As he got older, there was nothing sweeter than rocking a grand baby on his lap and watching them take their afternoon naps. He adored all of his children, and especially his grandchildren. He was a Christian by faith, and attended the Church of the Living Water in Muskogee, OK. The Lord knew he was growing tired and weary, so he sent His angels to carry His good and faithful servant home on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 in Muskogee with his loved ones by his side. Jiggs was 92 years old. He will be greatly missed for the love and understanding he gave to everyone he met. Jiggs is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Medley "Med" Jefferson Conrad and Ralph Conrad, and four sisters, Mary Conrad, Edith Ryan, Gladys Kincaid, and Louise Conrad.
