Myrna Williams Jones, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, passed away peacefully January 13, 2014 at the age of 83, at Haven Hospice in Palatka after patiently enduring a long illness. Myrna was born in Holly Hilly, Florida, the daughter of Freeman Williams of Jacksonville and Alma Pauline Hart of Holly Hill, Florida. Myrna spent her childhood in Holly Hill then moved with her grandparents, Louis and Luella Hart to San Mateo. She attended High School in Palatka where she loved cheerleading and basketball and made many lifelong friends, graduating with the class of 1948.
Myrna married Thomas E. Jones of Palatka and devoted her life to her Husband, Children, and her Church. While raising her family she lived in Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville and Plantation, Florida then was happy to return to Palatka where she had so many cousins and friends.
She attended beauty school in Daytona and worked as a hair dresser for several years then went into business with her dear friend, Josie DeLoach, opening the Down to Earth Shop Health Food Store in Palatka. She later moved to Orange Park and opened another health food store there. During the ensuing years, she also lived in Merritt Island and Palm Coast Florida finally returning home to Palatka in 2005.

Myrna loved her family and her church and faithfully served both with all of her heart and soul. Her husband, children and grandchildren, laud her as an excellent Christian example, cheerful, loving, patient and kind.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has tirelessly served therein. She accepted many callings and as a faithful Relief Society sister, she administered compassionate service throughout her life. Her service included a full time mission in both the Atlanta, Georgia and Orlando, Florida Temples.
Myrna is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Thomas E. Jones of Palatka , Her sister; Cassandra Waddoups of Palm Coast, FL; Her four children; Sandra Lynn Jones of Palatka, Janet Jones Anderson (Kenneth) of Otto NC, Thomas E. Jones Jr. (Glenda) of Otto, NC, and Mark Louis Jones (Carmen)of Jacksonville, FL . She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
