Dr. Kenneth L. Kiehle, DVM, 81, of Linden St., Livonia, died June 10, 2004 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He was born the son of Ernest and May Opper Kiehle on Feb. 11, 1923 in South Livonia.

Dr. Kiehle practiced veterinary medicine in the Livonia and surrounding area for 42 years. He graduated from Livonia Central School in 1940 and attended Cornell University, graduating in 1945 with his doctorate in veterinary science. He retired in 1988. Dr. Kiehle was active in the community. He is a past president of the Livonia Rotary Club where he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow and received the Lifetime Achievement Award. He was an honorary life member of the Livonia Fire Department, member of the Harrison American Legion, former Livonia School Board member, former member of the Security Trust Bank Board of Directors, member of the Union Cemetery Association and an avid golfer and bowler. He also belonged to professional organizations such as the American Veterinary Association.

He was predeceased by his wife Myrna, daughter Karen, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ethel; children, Robert James and Julie (Greg) Doyle; grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Doyle; sister Forence Kiehle; several nieces and nephews.

Friends called Sunday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15, Livonia where Funeral Services were held Monday. Burial, Union Cemetery in Livonia.
