State Times (Baton Rouge, LA) - Tuesday, March 8, 1988

Died Sunday March 6, 1988, at a local nursing home, after being ill several months. She was a native of Pendleton, Ore. She came to Baton Rouge in 1934 with her husband, Professor Loren D. Davidson, a faculty member of the LSU School of Music until his death in 1967. She was an LSU graduate in speech and drama and an elected member of Alpha Lamda Delta, Mu Sigma Rho, and Phi Kappa Phi honorary scholastic societies. She was an active member of Phi Lamda Pi, a married women's sorority, at LSU.She was founder and charter member of Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society, past president of Baton Rouge chapter, an authority in the field of Heraldry and Coats-of-Arms, and a co-founder of Louisiana Society for Psychical Research. Survived bya daughter, Mrs. John D. Burke, Gladstone, Ore.; two grandchildren, Loren-Yvette Whitten and Richard H. Whitten Jr., both of Gladstone; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Gonzales, Pacifica, Calif.; and a brother, Edward Reimann, Boise, Idaho. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Darlene Mayer, of Unity Church of Christianity. She will be interred next to her husband at Greenoaks MemorialPark.
