John McKee

John "Dean" McKee, 66, of St. Anthony, Mo., formerly of Granite City, died Thursday, May 16, 1996. He was born May 6, 1930, in Granite City.

Employed with Granite City Steel for more than 31 years prior to his retirement in 1979, he was a Korean War United States Marine veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee (Dake) McKee, whom he married Oct. 3, 1953, in Granite City; two sons, James McKee of Iberia, Mo., and Bill McKee of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Sharon Pendleton of Meta, Mo., and Michelle Luttrell of Iberia; one brother, Terry McKee of Jefferson City; three sisters, Nadine Rowden of Dixon, Mo., Ilene Lissak of Richland, Mo., and Donna Nave of Iberia; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Myrel McKee, who died in 1985; his parents, John and Della (Baugh) McKee; and one brother, Buck McKee, who died in 1995.

Services were Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. Duncan Skiles officiating. Burial was in Dake Cemetery, near Iberia.
