Imo Jane Bechanan Fox, 80, of the Thompsonville Community in Washington County, was born Sept. 5, 1933, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Springfield.
She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Brookhaven Baptist Mission in Lebanon.
On Jan. 15, 1952, at Youngers Creek Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, she was united in marriage to, James K. Fox. They graduated from Clear Creek Bible College in Pineville in 1971. Imo Jane faithfully served with her husband as he pastored several churches including Cold Iron Baptist Mission in Salyersville, South Hampton Baptist Church in Owensboro, South Campbellsville Baptist Church and Saloma Baptist Church, both in Campbellsville, Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Willisburg and Brookhaven Baptist Mission in Lebanon.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James K. Fox on Feb. 16, 2013; her parents, Lucien B. and Ruby Jane Nicholas Bechanan; four brothers, Elbert C., William B., Paul L. and James M. Bechanan; two sisters-in-law, Lois Bechanan and Ann Bechanan and a niece, Priscilla Bechanan.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Darryl Fox; a brother in-law, Charles (Dorothy) Fox; a sister-in-law, Anna S. Bechanan; four nephews, Doug Bechanan, Marlin Bechanan, Mike Bechanan and Kevin Fox; three nieces, Patricia Ahting, Karen Austin and Kimberly Wagner; four great-nephews; and two great-nieces.
Mrs. Fox had chosen cremation.
A graveside service at Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown.
