Lavon ( Woelfle) Zinnel Obituary

Lavon W. Zinnel of Chestertown, MD died on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Chester River Hospital Center. She was 81 years old.

Mrs. Zinnel was born on August 6, 1929 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was the step-daughter of the late, Lyle Bixby and the daughter of Arthur Woelfle and Minnie Hartman (Woelfle) Bixby, and a graduate of Worthington High School. She married James L. Zinnel, they lived in Worthington until 1961 when they moved to Chestertown where she raised her family.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Chestertown. Mrs. Zinnel enjoyed crabbing, fishing, boating, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her two daughters, Candy Bruley of Chestertown, MD and Wendy Jo Zinnel of Chestertown, MD; her son, Kim Zinnel of Chestertown, MD; a brother, Gile Bixby of Worthington, MN; grandchildren, Tonya, Michael, Jay, Mike, Ali, and Mitchell and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew. She was predeceased by her husband, James Zinnel in 2002.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Paul Cemetery, Chestertown, MD.
