Bernice E. Headley, 71, of E. Jackson St., Paden City, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1982 in Sistersville General Hospital. She was born July 14, 1910, in Tyler County, daughter of the late Steve and Ollie Mercer Snider.

She was a retired school crossing guard, a member of the Martha Washington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 86. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Paden City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Headley, in 1962.

Surviving are two sons, a sister, Mrs. Bessie Bevlin of Paden City; four grandchildren; a great-grandson.

Friends were received at Mowery Trowbridge Funeral Home, Paden City. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Paden City, with the Rev. Meredith Ball officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville. Martha Washington Chapter Order of Eastern Star conducted memorial services at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
