Cause of death: pneumonia
She lived most of her life in Stamford, Connecticut.

Daughter of:
Samuel Slawson
and Abigail Dibble

Wife of:
Samuel Buttrey (1824-aft 1880???)
Civil War soldier - served for Union Connecticut 1862-1865
(m. Jan 1845, NY)

Her 1900 census records reports that she has given birth to 8 children, all of whom were living in 1900. This cannot be true.

Samuel may have died in December 1883, in Darian, CT, in an accident involving him being thrown from a wagon whose horse was frightened by a drunkard. This is assuming that this is the same Samuel. Samuel and Emeline are listed as husband/wife in the 1870 Stamford Census. But in the 1880 Census, Emeline is still listed as living in Stamford but is widowed. A Samuel matching in name and age is listed in 1880 in Darian as married and being a shoemaker. He is listed as the brother-in-law of the head of household, who is a shoemaker. This Samuel does not seem to appear in any other census records. This Samuel Buttrey was buried in Darian, Connecticut, according to his obituary.
