Agnes was a fiercely independent woman who, as a widowed mother, worked hard to put her two children through college and involve them in various travel experiences at a young age including several cross country adventures. In her later years, she often entertained listeners with her tales of growing up in Hazardville’s Powder Hollow, an experience that had a profound impact on her life.
Agnes was so filled with life even in her senior years. She loved her two grandchildren, Jen and Ryan and would babysit them on a moment's notice. Some of their many memories of her are the trips to Acadia National Park, Washington D.C. and frequent trips to McDonalds. Agnes was an outdoors person who was known to ride a bicycle well into her 70's. She also took long walks daily up and down Enfield St.
Agnes will be remembered as a selfless woman who always put others before herself. She could cheer up a room full of people with her tremendous wit and wisdom. She lived a long and glorious life and will be missed by the many people that she touched in her lifetime.
Besides Sam and his wife Patty, Agnes is survived by her other son, Peter Cuscovitch of Ellington; two grandchildren, Jennifer Bourey of S. Windham and Ryan Cuscovitch of E. Hartford, her great grandson, Bradley Cuscovitch-Bourey, brother-in-law Henry Leonard of Bolton as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Samuel Cuscovitch in 1950. Agnes’ family would like to extend their gratitude to those who took care of Agnes over the past decade including the staffs of Vernon’s VNA Adult Day Care, Vernon Manor, Coventry Dial-A-Ride and personal caregiver Annie C. Funeral services and burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Town of Coventry Human Services (Dial-A-Ride), 1712 Main St. Coventry, CT 06238.
