Tilden married Nancy Katherine "Katy" Mitchell on June 2, 1899 by Elder Jacob Hylton at the residence of Saul Mills at Egeria, WVA. Between 1905 and 1910 Leroy used wagon and horses to transport groceries from Mabscott, WVA to the Egeria store by way of Pemberton, Fireco and Odd. He loaded feed and fertilizer at Raleigh, WVA to haul by way of Oxley (now Beaver), Shady Spring and Flat Top. The round trip took two days.
The two children of Tilden and Katy are:
1. Gertie Ethel Walker Mills (married Numa Grover Mills of the Aden and Mahulda Walker Mills family)
2. Richard Elmer Walker (1901 - 1961)
Tilden's second marriage was to Ardelia Soprona Bailey on September 7, 1904. They started house-keeping at the foot of Bluff Mountain, on a place later known as the Dennis Thompson Place at Egeria, WVA.
As of 1914 Tilden and Dealie were living on the Wayne Justice Place at Flat Top, WVA and Tilden had a US Mail route. During a visit from Frankie Ceberry Walker Bailey and her daughter, Effie, from Texas, two wagon loads of relatives at Tilden's insistence traveled to Flat Top and stayed overnight at his house.
About 1925 Tilden and his uncle George Walker were in sawmill business together in the Sugar Camp Hollow at foot of Odd Mountain near Walkertown. Tilden worked for about two years in a coal mine in the Sagamore Section, perhaps the last public work he performed was for Lillybrook Coal Company, in a mine shop at Lego, WVA.
During 1935 and 1936 Tilden and Dealie were residing and farming on a part of his Uncle George Walker's farm on Tommy Ridge, Raleigh County, WVA. A farmer most of his adult life, Tilden originated a saying - "That beats anything I ever went anywhere to stay all night".
Tilden and Dealie are the parents of fifteen children:
1. Laura Ann Walker (1905 - 1908) a twin to Lois
