TOLEDO, Ohio — Scott D. Lightfoot, 50, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.

Scott was born Oct. 4, 1962, to Bud and Phyllis Lightfoot in San Diego and raised in Elkhart, Ind.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis E. Lightfoot; wife Cheryl (Wensits) Lightfoot; sons Cameron and Malcolm Lightfoot; sisters Sarah (Randy) Williams and Jamie (David) Wheeler; brother Paul (Karmen) Lightfoot; nieces Sydney and Logan Williams, Addison and Morgan Lightfoot, Kaila and Taylor Wheeler and Kennedy; and nephews Ryan Williams and Trevor and Mason Hough.

He was preceded by his father, Bud Lightfoot; uncle Allen Wayne "Skeet" Lightfoot; and grandparents Orbie Sr. and Ruth Lightfoot and Eris Friend.

Scott graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1981 and attended Purdue and Goshen College, where he spent a trimester in Haiti. He graduated from Ball State University in 1988.

He married Cheryl Wensits Oct. 14, 1989, at Winding Waters Church. He worked for the News Messenger in Fremont and programmed computers at Toledo School for the Arts. He loved painting and drawing. He had many art shows where he sold his art. He gave away many pieces to people he liked who enjoyed his work.

Scott is at peace now, home with the Lord. He will be missed forever.

A celebration of life service is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Winding Waters Church, 421 C.R. 4, with Pastor Michael Thompson officiating.
