John Minnick was born Jan. 16, 1914 in rural Bellwood, Butler County, Nebraska, to David and Ethel (Rose) Minnick. He attended school at Bellwood. He married Clara Landis Jan. 16, 1942 at Beatrice. He was a horseman and a lifelong resident of Bellwood. He was a member of the American Palomino Association and several local saddle clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one infant granddaughter. Services were held Dec. 6 at Gass Haney Funeral Chapel of Columbus. Burial was at the Bellwood Cemetery.
