Ruth M. Johns, of Academy Street, Plymouth, died Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a patient for several days.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, March 3, 1905, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Jennie Wood Kemp. She attended Wilkes-Barre schools. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester, Conn., and its Phebe Circle. She resided in Connecticut for many years, moving to Plymouth several months ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, Feb. 18, 1973; brother, William.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Ruth Klavonski, with whom she resided; Mrs. Jane Bachand, Vernon, Conn.; sons, Fred Hughes, Manchester, Conn.; Lewis Johns, Plainville, Conn.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Frank Terhune officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
