Delbert A. Burge was born September 17, 1862 in Tennessee, USA, to Leonidas Titus & Olivia Green Burge.

Siblings found by this researched, to-date, are:
Sister - Isadora Burge (1872 - ?)
Sister - Leufaleer (Lou) Burge (1874 - Abt 1900)
Brother - Earlie Pelman Burge (1877 - 1963)
Sister - Olivia Burge (1879 - ?)

Delbert was a Furniture Dealer, by trade, according to his Death Certificate.

Sadly, Delbert passed away on January 1, 1930 from Myocarditis. His last known residence was located at 1700 Beckley Avenue, Dallas, Dallas, Texas, USA.

His Death Certificate references his birth date as September 17, 1862 (type-written), and someone has hand-written 1863, above the 1862 reference. He is found in the 1880 US Census - Precinct 3, Morris, Texas, USA - and is listed there as a ten year old, which means he would have been born in 1870. The census references his birthplace as Texas, and his Death Certificate lists his birthplace as Tennessee. He's also listed as "Delber A. Burge" in that census. The informant listed on his Death Certificate was Mr. Bufford Burge of Dallas, Texas, USA.

Note: Death Certificate is incorrect on place of burial (Grove Hill Cemetery - Dallas, Dallas, Texas). A kind relative of Delbert's provided personal knowledge of Delbert's actual burial site being in Western Heights Cemetery in Dallas, Dallas, Texas to me in July 2014. Memorial has been corrected. She also noted Delbert's tombstone had been stolen by vandals who were attracted to the Western Heights Cemetery due to the burial of Clyde Barrow in that cemetery. What a shame....

She also stated that Delbert's birth year is incorrect on his death certificate (1862), as provided per Informant (Delbert's son, Bufford Burge). He was, in actuality, born in 1871.

A special THANK YOU to my new-found relative for all her help! I am so PLEASED to have met you!!

I will add more to this memorial, as I find more information, to honor Delbert's memory.

Rest In Peace, Delbert.
