William H. Andrulat, 96, died Thursday, (March 15, 2007) at the Village of Buckland in South Windsor. Born November 17, 1910, son of the late Adam Andrulat and Anna (Karupkat) Andrulat on what is now Hayes Road in the Wapping section of South Windsor. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosanna (Futtner) on September 21, 1999, after 62 years of a wonderful marriage. He was a graduate of Wapping Grammar School (1925), East Hartford High School (1929), and received a B.S. degree from Trinity College of Hartford in 1933. Since the economy was bad and work was scarce, he went to farm with his brother, Charles, and grew potatoes and tobacco for 20 years. They sold the farm in 1956, and he and his wife moved to South Glastonbury. The house they shared was struck by lightening on June 27, 2000, and was partially destroyed. Rather than restore the house, he sold the property and moved to South Windsor. He leaves several nieces and nephews, including, Warren Andrulat and his wife, Ellen, of South Windsor, Mildred Schliphack of Ellington, Thomas Dennis and his wife, Nancy, of Berlin, and Alma Hedrick and her husband, Warren, of Sanford, ME. He was predeceased by his brothers, Otto, Charles, and Edgar Andrulat, his sisters, Edith Lang and Alma Dennis, and his nephew, Fred Andrulat. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Company 2 of the Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department, 905 Main St., South Glastonbury, CT 06073, or to HOSPICE, c/o VNA, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066.
