Glen Miller, 79, of Franklin Ind., formerly of South Bend, died Friday in The Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin. Survivors include a sister, Corinne "Pat" Henry of Cherry Hill, N.J.. Services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, a Masonic memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m..
Glen was a PFC in the U.S. Army South Pacific during WWII.

Glen and his mother, Josephine lived with Josephine's mother, Cora, after the passing of Cora's husband Henry Mumaw. This household had several other family members, verified by the census reports. After the passing of Cora in 1944, (221 E. Paris st.), family member Nettie Trittinger, (Mumaw) continued to maintain as head of house for the family members. Josephine was older than Nettie, but reports of her being "sickly" and her eventual death in 1958 left Glen with Nettie. Nettie became divorced, and then remarried to George Scott. Glen remained as part of the family household at 221 E. Paris st. George then passed in 1978, leaving Nettie to live alone with Glen. Glen took steps to find a smaller home more suitable for both Nettie and himself. Glen made sure Nettie never had to worry about having a roof over her head again. This was their last residence in South Bend at 1104 S. 30th st.. Glen made sure that I was given Nettie's blue leather bound large print Bible, (which I had purchased for her many years prior to her death). As quickly as he had given it back to me, he asked if I would mind giving it to him. I was happy to do so! For a short time, after Nettie's death, Glen had an apartment near the Masonic Temple in South Bend. I remember seeing a small loaded canon on the living room floor of his apartment. It was pointed at the entrance door. Thankfully, he never had to use it. Details are sketchy at best, but I remember Glen having a maintenance position at the temple.
