Betty G. Binkley, 95, Lemoyne, died on Monday, November 7, 2005 at Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, PA, where she had been a resident since October, 2001. She was born on June 12, 1910 in Kane, PA, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Theresa Ventri Gentilman. She was preceded in death by her husband, David V. Binkley in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lena Pasquarett, Mary Ann Kibler, M.D.; and by four brothers, Dominick, Joseph, Fred and Victor Gentilman. She is survived by her sister, Helen Zajicek of Frederick, MD; and a brother, John Gentilman of Kane, PA. She is also survived by her sons, David W., of Lewisberry and James G. Binkley of Camp Hill; two grandsons, Christopher D. Binkley of Dakar, Senegal, and Mark D. Binkley of Lewisberry; and granddaughter, Jill T. Billus of New Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was a graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, Erie, and the University of Pittsburgh, School of Nursing, where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. She earned a Master's in Public Health from the University of North Carolina in 1954. She was employed as a Public Health Nurse with the Pennsylvania Department of Health for twenty-five years. She then embarked on a new career as a Special Education Teacher with the Middletown School District. She continued her education and became certified as an Elementary Guidance Counselor and School Psychologist. She worked for several years as an elementary guidance counselor with the Columbia School District, Columbia, PA, until her retirement. She also maintained a private psychological counseling practice in Lemoyne for many years. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, and the World War I Widows Auxiliary of the 42nd Rainbow Division Veterans Memorial Foundation.
