Mrs. Effie Botkin Propst died at Rockingham Memorial Hospital July 1, 1942, age 56 years, 3 mos., 1 day. She had been in failing health for sometime. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Roy and Gilbert and seven grandchildren, three brothers, John, Pearl, and William, two half brothers, Lonnie and Henry Botkin and one sister, Polly Botkin, one half sister, Mrs. John Caine. Funeral services were held at Palo Alto school house July 3rd at 11 o’clock conducted by Rev. M.J. Craun of Singers Glen. Burial was in Botkin family cemetery.

Funeral services were held from the Palo Alto school house Friday at 11 o’clock by Rev. M.J. Craun. Burial was in the Botkin cemetery. Mrs. Propst was a lifetime resident of Palo Alto. Va.
