She was born May 12, 1926 in Franklin County, Indiana, a daughter to Clarence and Anetia Kuehn Amrhein. Rita married Elmer Riehle on October 18, 1947 in St. Michael Catholic Church, and he survives.
She worked at Jay Garmet and D&M for a number of years, as well as being a housewife. Rita was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
Left to honor Rita's memory is her husband of over 66 years, Elmer Riehle; children, Dane (Judy) Riehle of Blooming Grove, Renee Metcalf of Brookville, Brent (Faith) Riehle of Brookville; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Kirschner of Connersville, Dottie Boyle of Live Oak Florida, Norma Knecht of Connersville and Donna Back of Brookville; and brother, Ray Amrhein of Brookville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Glaub and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Morford.
Visitation for friends and family is Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Brookville. A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Sean Danda, begins at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial donations in Rita's honor may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
