Rev. Richard L. McKiddy, 76, Corbin, passed away Sunday morning, April 1, 2001 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center. He was a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge 490 F&AM, Oleika Shriner, Knights Tempolar Eye Foundation, attended Hugh Harris Lodge 938 in Corbin. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He was ordained as a minister at Hanging Rock Baptist Church on June 3, 1961. He pastored the following Baptist churches: Cedar Gap, Wilton, Sandstone, Flat Creek, Hopewell, Carpenter, Hanging Rock, Buffalo Baptist, and Calvary Baptist Church in Bell County for approximately 29 years.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Hickman McKiddy, Corbin; three daughters, Pauline Gentry and husband, Glen of Goldens Creek Community, Barbourville, Betty Jean King of Independence and Carrnettia Johnson and husband, Ray of Waxahatchie, TX; three sons, Don McKiddy and wife, Nancy of Corbin, Floyd McKiddy and wife, Phyllis of Dawsonville, GA, and Larry Wayne McKiddy of Keavy; special friends,
Carla and Penny; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Oma Hickman of Corbin; brother, Ray McKiddy and wife, Alice of New Carlsile, OH.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Logan and Rev. Harold Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Croley Addition, Highland Park Cemetery, Williamsburg. Pallbearers were members from the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge 490 and Hugh Harris Masonic Lodge 938 in Corbin. Grandsons served as Honorary Pallbearers.
