She and Edmond Allen Tilley were married at Hanover on June 12, 1940. After Ed served in the Navy, he and Gerry moved to Paducah, Ky. in February, 1948. They were both active in Broadway United Methodist Church, the public schools and teh community. Her faith was ever strong.
An avid gardener, she specialized in roses. Gerry was in the Church Circles, the Bell Choir, the Women's Club and Delphic. She was a keen swimmer, tennis player and golfer. She was a guide at the Quilt Museum and loved working with children.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Pryor Ewing; her parents, Noble Pryor Ewing and Mimeral McMahan Ewing, and her husband, Edmond Allen Tilley Sr.
She is survived by their five children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (I didn't add these because I couldn't get the copy and paste to work right and it was a lot to type - sorry).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Broadway United Methodist Church with Dr. Joe Beal and the Rev. John Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
