Mrs. Countryman Taken In Death

BIRMINGHAM - Mrs. Edith A. Countryman, 71, died Friday afternoon at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield where she had been a patient the past four days.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Birmingham with the Rev. Millard Marshall and the Rev. Kenneth Sueterlin (sic. spelling ??) officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

The family will be at the Burch Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening to receive friends.

Edith A. Countryman was born Dec. 19, 1901, at Brighton, the daughter of Russell and Ida Vogel Bonar.

Her marriage to Clyde Countryman took place Dec. 22, 1920. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Dale, Birmingham; Clifford, Moline; Dean, Hillsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Hoskins,Fairfield; Mrs. Maxine McCarty, Douds; and Mrs. Donna Story, Birmingham; also 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Esther Adams, Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by one son and a sister.

Mrs. Countryman was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church near Birmingham.
