Joseph COMBS, of Center Township, passed away at 1 o'clock a.m. last Saturday. Mr. COMBS had been abed for a number of months with a complication of Bright's disease and dropsy. His remains were on Sunday last, interred in the COMBS Cemetery about three miles west of Cincinnati. Mr. COMBS was past 59 years of age and leaves a wife and six children of which three are unmarried. He was born in North Carolina, and when young came to Indiana. He first settled in Monroe County, but soon after having married, he moved to Greene County and has since lived in this county. Mr. COMBS was a thriving and energetic farmer, a thorough business man and a man of strong mind and political sentiment. He had been prominent in the affairs of this county and had taken an active part in politics. He leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his death, to all of whom the DEMOCRAT extends its sympathy.

Note of reinterrment: John Joseph Combs' initial interrment was at Combs Cemetery. His reinterrment to Solsberry Cemetery in Greene County, Indiana, occured after the death of his wife (Elizabeth Stone Combs) in 1913.
