Immigrated with brother Frank Allen to Wisconsin. According to oral family history I recently found, Thomas was born in Wicklow Ireland. From there he immigrated to Goderich, Ontario, Canada with family and at a young age was put to work in the family business. According to records, he could have been born in Wicklow OR, the same as Frank Allen, his brother, in Goderich, Ontario, Canada. Thomas came to the US with his brother Frank, and they both purchased farms in Little Suamico, Wisconsin. One farm still operates today, the other has not been passed on and was sold except for one remaining lot where the house formerly stood. Thomas was said to have worked while his brother ran the farm. Not much was said about him or known about him other than he may have passed from alcoholism. There is one work record for a Thomas Allen who worked in a sawmill for Dr. Hiram Allen in nearby Pensaukee, WI who was injured in a mill accident, but it is not clear if this was him and Dr. Allen as far as known, is not related to Thomas or Frank directly. An interesting note on the hands at the top of the stone. In some circles this is an indication of marriage, but may be more representative of either the passage from life to death, the hand on the left having straight fingers that do not clasp indicating death. The right hand representing life letting the soul go to heaven. Another is that the left is letting go of a loved one but the right living hand is not ready to let go of this person, meaning I will not forget you, until we meet again.
