Harry Max Binney of Madisonville, died peacefully in his home at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War. He was a pastor and founder of the Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. In later years, he became an author and successful businessman in real estate and home building in East Tennessee. He was the son of the late George and Lucille Binney of Kokomo, Ind. Preceded in death by: wife of 59 years, Elsie Geneva Binney; and brother, Ralph Binney. Survivors include: sister-Marjorie Hamilton, formerly of Madisonville, now residing in Kokomo; Sons-Stephen Kent Binney of Madisonville; and Dr. James D. Binney of Greenville, S.C.; Daughter-Patricia G. Binney of Madisonville; Grandchildren-Stephanie K. Binney, Stephen K. Binney Jr. and Shelley Jean Koozer, all of Indiana; and Jonathan Kyle Binney of South Carolina; Seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Binney donated his body to medical science via the Quillen Medical School and therefore has declined any funeral services.
