The funeral Monday afternoon of the late Mrs. Rosa Loesing, marked the passing of one of the oldest residents of this city. The services were conducted from the home of a son, Herman Loesing, 914 Superior Avenue at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. C. F. Schulz of Trinity Lutheran church and interment was made in Wildwood cemetery.
Mrs. Loesing, nee Frosina, was born September 2, 1840 in Wet Prussia and came to America in 1854, at the age of fourteen years. She was married in 1859 to the late August Loesing, Sr., in this city and the couple made their home here for many years. Theirs was the first resident to be erected on North Tenth Street here and Mrs. Loesing had resided in that same residence for sixty-six years.
Twelve children were born of the union, three of whom survived. They are two sons, Herman Loesing, this city and August C. Loesing of Chicago and Mrs. Louise Baldwin, wife of Herbert Baldwin, of River Forest, Ill. There are also nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren besides two sisters, Mrs. M. Goetz, of Manitowoc, who survive.
Mrs. Loesing left Sheboygan three years ago this month for River Forest where she took up her residence with her daughter, Mrs. Baldwin and where her death occurred last Friday morning. She had reached the advanced age of 82 years, seven months and four days.
