The following obituary appeared in "The Courier Express" (DuBois, PA) on January 5, 2014:

Theresa Elizabeth Dixon, 98, of DuBois died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at home following a short illness.

She was born Sept. 19, 1915, the daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia Nicolo Zito of Emporium.

She was married to the late Francis S. Dixon of DuBois on June 23, 1941.

Theresa retired from over 15 years of working at the DuBois Area Schools in 1980. She was a reliable and devoted volunteer for the DuBois Regional Medical Center, honored by the volunteers for more than 20 years of continuous service.

She was well-known to her family and friends as a loving mother, friend and sister; an avid crossword puzzle completer; an expert crocheter of afghans, hats and sweaters; a skilled baker; and a meticulous homemaker. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona, California, Maine and England for extended visits with her children and family.

She is survived by two daughters and a son: Nancy Dixon of Lymington, Hampshire, England; Beverly Regal and her husband Pat of Chandler, Ariz.; and Francis and his wife, Deborah of Granite Bay, Calif.; three grandchildren: Christopher Regal of Murrieta, Calif., and Alex and Elizabeth Dixon of Granite Bay and Citrus Heights, Calif.; three great-grandchildren: Patrick, Nicholas and Natalie Regal; a brother, Gus Zito, and a sister, Jean Zito, both of Emporium; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Mary Jo and her husband Erik van der Kaay of Kennebunk, Maine.

She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters: Anthony Zito, Dominick Zito, Frank Zito, infant Joseph Zito, Joseph Zito, Margaret (Margie) Anderson, Nancy Connors, Stella Zito and Susan Zito.

Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12.30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Falls Creek with Father Matias Quimno officiating.

Burial will be at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Theresa Dixon to DRMC Home Health and Hospice, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois PA 15801.
