[How old is Esther? There is a 7-year's difference in dates for her birth. There is discrepancy in her birth date, three other sources claim different dates, but the info at her grave and cemetery might be correct, unless it is because Russia didn't have exact birth records back in the 1800s]

Approximately—1881?: Michael/Meekoel Adler meets and marries Esther Spelke in Imperial Czarist Russia. Their 5 children were born in quick succession, in Russia:
1882: March 15, Hyman/Herman; 1884: Joseph; 1886: Sophie; 1893: April 4, Neyach/Noah; 1895: Rioke/ Rebekah/ Rebecca born.
At some point after this, Meekoel died, whether or not he came to America is in question.
1909, Esther Spelke Adler (52, b-1857), widow of Meekoel (Michael) Adler, arrived in New York City, along with two of her children, Rebecca (Rebekah, Rioke) G Adler (14, b-1895), and Neyach (later named Noah, 16 b-1893), from Mir, Russia, on the ship Berlin, out of Bremen, Germany, which arrived May 10. She joined her older sons, Joseph (arrived in 1905, naturalized 1911) and Herman (arrived in 1???), who lived in Stamford, Connecticut. Joseph worked in clothing, while Herman was a laborer. They lived together in a home on Hawthorne St, along with boarders, George (24, born 1886) and Rosie Greenberger (21, born 1895), a married couple, from Russia and Hungary respectively. He worked as a watchmaker in a jewelry store. Another boarder was Michael Copplevitch (21, Born 1889). (source: 1910 US Census)
