Terry L. Decker, 54, Roaring Spring, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Norman Decker and the late Norma (Guella) Decker. He married Elaine K. Keith on June 18, 1978.
Surviving are his wife; his father; three children: Angel Wallace and husband, Banks Jr., of East Freedom, Jon and wife, Amanda, of Roaring Spring and Matt L. and fiancee, Sarah, of Pittsburgh; three granddaughters: Paige "Punkin" and Peyton "Princess" Decker and Kaylee "Sweet Pea" Wallace; and three siblings: Greg and wife, Nancy, of Roaring Spring, Michele Sullivan of Roaring Spring and Michael and wife, Amy, of Schellsburg. Terry was a father figure to many others.
Terry had owned and operated Terry Decker Sanitation and Cove Recycling since 1979. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, and passing his knowledge on to everyone he knew. He was a member of Blair-Bedford Dirt Racers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, Jerry Stern officiating. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terry's memory may be given to the Albright Church of the Brethren.
