ARCHER CITY — Daniel Herbert "Danny" Moore, age 61, of Archer City passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008, in Wichita Falls.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City, with Roger Deerinwater officiating. .

Danny was born July 1, 1947, in Jacksboro, Texas, to Ben Bledsoe Moore and Ruth Madeline Tarr Moore.

He was a 1965 graduate of Archer City High School. During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army from 1967 until 1971. After his tour of duty, he attended North Texas State where he received a Bachelor of Psychology Degree.

Danny was the owner of Moore Paint Contracting Company until his retirement in 1998. He was the Archer County Veteran's Service Officer and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was a great father and loving grandfather who cherished his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was fishing and shooting guns.

Survivors include two sons, Nathan Moore and wife, Kassandra of Archer City and Joel Moore and wife, Jennifer of Denver, Colorado; his mother, Ruth Moore of Archer City; one brother, Dale Moore and wife, Annette of Dripping Springs, Texas; and four grandchildren, Hunter, Hayghan, Timothy, and Kaytlin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben in 1983 and brother, David Lee in 1945.
