Mrs Rena Ripley, a former Abilene resident, died at 10:30 pm Thursday in Marshall after about three weeks of hospitalization.
Services will be at 10 am Saturday in North's Memorial Chapel in Abilene. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Cemetery. The Rev Tom Nipp of the Second Baptist Church of Abilene will officiate.
She was born March 5,1897, in Ardmore, Okla. She was married to Horace Ripley, April 2, 1936 in Brownwood.
They moved to Abilene, where Mr Ripley worked at Catchings Cafeteria at ACC for 20 years. He retired in 1968 and died last March.
Mrs Ripley was in a nursing home in Baird at the time of his death. They had been living at Clyde after his retirement.
Survivors include seven grandchildren, J C, Marshall L, of Liberty, Mrs Annyce Prickett of Houston, Bobby, Onetta, Terry and Pete Ripley, all of Brownwood; one stepdaughter, Adrine Mayfield of Wichita Falls; one stepson, Billy Bob Ripley of Brownwood; three sisters, Mrs Rose Threepeoples, Mrs Nola Wade and Mrs Helen Hartman, all of El Paso; and 12 great-grandchildren.
