She was born on May 19, 1918 in Kendall, Washington, to Charles and Martha Christen. She graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1936.
Carol married Raymond (Pat) Riley on April 26, 1941. They resided in Van Zandt for 65 years. For the last five years she lived in Bellingham.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pat, in 1991; brother, Leonard Christen; and sisters: Vera Bonner and Loie Sanford.
Through the years Carol enjoyed her garden, sewing, arts and crafts, card games and bingo. She also served on the election board for several years.
