OVERSEAS VETERAN DIES AT HOSPITAL

Rites for Henry Locke at Mortuary Wednesday.

The funeral of Henry Locke, 62, World War veteran who died at 3 a.m. Sunday at the Veterans' Hospital in Dayton, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Parson mortuary with the Reverend A.E. Cortner, pastor of the First Congregational-Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Kelbel, 1547 West Twelfth St., with whom Mr. Lock made his home.
Mr. Locke had been ill for five weeks. He was a life-long resident of Delaware County. During the World War he served overseas for 14 months and 13 days as a member of the Sixth Calvary Machine Gun Troop.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kelbel of Muncie, and Mrs. Inez Whitehead of St. Mary's, Ohio; three sons, Edward and Charles Locke of Muncie and Robert Locke, who is in service with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Lexington; a stepmother, Mrs. Francis Locke of Albany; a brother, Frank Locke of Wabash; six half-sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hudson of Indianapolis, Mrs. Minnie Haney and Mrs. Ethel Fencel, both of Muncie, Mrs. Theassa Young and Mrs. Mary Gregg, both of Albany, and Miss Dorothy Locke of Dunkirk; and ten grandchildren.
