JOSEPH HUELSMAN SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS

Joseph Huelsman, age 86, of Minster, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday at Joint Township Memorial hospital, St. Marys, where he was under treatment for a cerebral hemorrhage suffered eight days ago.

He was a retired employee of the Minster Machine Company where he was employed 40 years as a foundry molder. Mr. Huelsman was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic church, the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the 25-Year Club of the Minster Machine Co.

He was born December 30, 1881, at Cranberry Prairie, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Knapke) Huelsman. On June 26, 1906 he married Frieda (Elfrieda) Hemmelgarn who died in 1925. On Nov 28, 1935, he married Henrietta Athmer Dirksen who survives along with eight children, Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Anzek and Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Fecher, both of Dayton; Mrs. George (Helen) Anzek, Englewood; Eugene, Bellefontaine; Clarence, Minster; Joseph, San Jose, Calif.; Paul, Dayton; and Gerald Huelsman, Minster; one stepchild, Mrs. Clara Jay, Canoga Park, Calif.; 27 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Mr. Huelsman was the last survivor of the Joseph Huelsman family. He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and one sister.

Funeral service were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Augustine church with the Rev. John Spatt officiating. Burial took place in the church cemetery.

The N.J. Hogenkamp Sons Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
