Anita Henry, a loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on September 4, 2005.

Anita received her Masters Degree in Education at Sam Houston State University and retired from teaching, after 26 years, from Sam Houston Elementary School. She was a member of the Senior Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Conroe and was a Volunteer at Conroe Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, for almost 20 years and also enjoyed spending time, keeping her home and yard beautiful and spoiling her grandchildren.

Anita is preceded in death by, her Parents; Ike and Nellie Simmons, Sisters, Maxine Junnell and Mildred Thomas and Brother, Jack Simmons. Survivors include her Daughter; Pat Nichol of Conroe, Sons; Bruce Henry and wife Diane of Conroe and Jack Henry and wife Debbie of Austin, Grandchildren; Jason Nichol, Kelley Henry, Laura Henry and Claire Henry, Special Nieces; Marcie Simmons and Janice McDonald, Special Friend; Dave Napp, and numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Briarwood House. Also, to Odyssey Hospice for their support and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Conroe, with Dr. Cliff Herrington officiating. Private Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Cashner Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Dave Napp, Charlie Burris, Ed Cannon, Robert Barnett, Guy Martin, Cy Lipe, Danny Nichol and Gordon Ross.
