Gary "Bruce" Henry was born December 29, 1951, and passed away September 28, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. Bruce was a gentleman and role model of decency and integrity. He was an expert in his lifelong career in custom window coverings at Henney's Draperies, Inc. and valued the relationships he formed with his customers. While he enjoyed music, movies and sports, his preferred pastime was spending time with his "angels", his family & many friends, all for whom he had extraordinary dedication and love. He is the family hero and inspiration in his valiant multi-year battle with cancer as a silent warrior, never complaining and refusing to give up hope. Bruce loved Conroe, TX and was honored and proud to serve on the Boards of the Friends of Conroe and the Friends of the Flag. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew "Jack" Henry and Anita Henry. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane; daughters Laura Henry of Houston, TX; Claire & husband Katlin Jeffcoat & son Keaton Jeffcoat of Willis, TX; sister Pat Nichol of Conroe, TX; brother Jack Henry & wife Debbie of Austin, TX; special family friend Dave Napp of Conroe, TX; sister-in-law Barbara & husband Rick Williamson of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Mary & husband Dave Higbie of Katy, TX; nephew Jason Nichol & wife Brooke, nieces Kelley Henry, Andrea & husband Barron McLeod, Katie Novak, and great niece Lacy Novak. The family will honor Bruce and receive friends at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 19, 2013, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Conroe Sparkle Event Hall, 101 Metcalf, Downtown Conroe, TX, 77301.
